Pray and Invite. It’s that simple!

February 28, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Wow! This past Sunday was a blast!  Can you believe the talent and courage that it takes to ride a skateboard in a half-pipe?  I’m pretty adventurous, but you’ll never see me trying that!  Thanks guys!

Well, this week is going to be a shocker as well.  We’re going to see just how much “personality” we have here at SpringWell and how God uses our uniquness for His purposes.  So don’t miss Sunday!

I want to remind you of 3000/300/3 which reflects our Easter goals of 3000 in attendance, and 300 people accepting Christ as their Savior during our 3 Easter services.  As I have already said, the only way we can meet these goals is if everyone does their part and God does something that only He can do.

One way you can be a part of Easter is through consistent prayer.  In fact, we are turning up the heat in the area of prayer.  Our new prayer team will be leading us in a prayer event this Saturday at SpringWell, at 10:00 a.m.  We are simply going to  pray for God to show up Easter and do something incredible.  I hope you will make plans to attend our first prayer event for 2008 and join us in specifically praying  for our Easter services.

Of course, you still need to be inviting your friends.  Our main focus is to invite people who are not presently attending church.  So if you have friends who are going to another church, be thankful, and let’s reserve our seats for those who are not attending anywhere.

It all comes down to this:  Pray and Invite. It’s that simple!  If we are consistent in praying for and inviting people, God will do the rest.  I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

3000/300/3 – It’s a God Thing!

Wow!  Can you believe how incredible Robbie Horton was last week?  I guess we now know where Shannon and Drew get all of their talent!  Thank you Robbie for your willingness to share your heart last week through music.

You do not want to miss this week.  You might even want to bring a helmet and some pads for protection.  I don’t want to give anything away, BUT it is going to be so cool!

I also want to take a minute and remind you of a little challenge that I proposed to you several weeks ago.  Do you remember?  During our “What If” series we began to dream about the possibilities of what if God began to do in here (SpringWell Church) what He did in here (The Bible)?  The early Church was amazing!  They were loving each other and the level of community they were experiencing was phenomenal.  And because of their great love for their friends, who were outside their faith, The Church was exploding with growth…3000 people were saved in one day…that was just one day!

So as we were dreaming, I kind-of opened my BIG mouth and set an attendance goal for Easter of 3,000.  Then I really got carried away and set another goal of 300 people to accept Christ that weekend during the 3 Easter services.  I even provided a card and asked you to write down the names of several of your unchurched friends for you to  invite to our Easter weekend.

What was I thinking?  I guess I was thinking that if God could do incredible things back then, He can do it now as well.  I truly believe that God wants to use ordinary people like you and me to do the extraordinary.  I want to be a part of something so BIG that people will see how BIG our God really is, don’t you?  So have you been inviting your unchurched friends to one of our 3 Easter services?  Are you praying for them everyday?  Are you gently loving and caring for them and hopefully earning the right to share the love of Jesus with them?  I certainly hope so.

If you were there that Sunday, I want to encourage you to join the challenge, help us out by inviting several friends to SpringWell this Easter.  It’s your opportunity to be a part of something that is BIGGER than life!  Just remember, 3000/300/3…… It’s a God thing!  See ya Sunday!

Hey guys!  I hope that you are having a great week…I know that I am.  Thursday is Valentine’s Day!  Yip-ee!  I love Valentine’s Day!  Spending time with Karen is one of the greatest joys of my life!  I am truly thankful for a great marriage.

A great Valentine’s Day is made up of  giving to one another through gifts, affection, and words of encouragement.  It’s just the perfect time to give!  I wanted to take a minute and thank you for your giving this year.  Our financial contributions are up over 17% from this time last year!  Is that sweet or what?  You have no idea how stoked I am about what God has planned for us this year.  Giving is up, attendance is up and lives are being changed every single week.  Yeah God!

Whatever you do, do not miss this Sunday.  You will be blown away by one of SpringWell’s very own!  Yep,  SpringWell’s got talent and we’re going to show it off this Sunday!  We are also going to be talking about ”the heart”.  If you are ever going to find God’s purpose and plan for your life then you have to understand  your heart matters.  Pretty fitting to talk about the heart when we are in the season of “love”, huh?

Remember we are serving up free coffee for the 9:00 folks.  So come early and bring a friend or come late and bring a friend…just come and bring a friend!  See ya Sunday!

Last Sunday was another incredible day at SpringWell.  I want to thank Bill Simmons for delivering such an illustrative message, and to 4Given for leading us in worship.  It makes me so proud to see how smoothly SpringWell moves forward in my absence.  Attendance was up, giving was up, and I hear that excitement was in the air!  Thanks for believing in what we do here week in and out!

This Sunday we begin a new series, “SpringWell’s Got Talent”.  We have been working behind the scenes on this for literally six months. As I have prepared for this series, I asked the question, “Why do we love to watch shows like ‘America’s Got Talent’, or even ‘American Idol’?  What is the big draw?”  I believe it’s because  we love to see ordinary people go for the gusto…we love to see ordinary people get a chance to prove that they have been gifted for a purpose.  It gives hope to ordinary people like us…to dream that just maybe we can do something extraordinary as well.  We all have unique gifts, abilities, personalities, and experiences, and God wants us to use those to birth a dream inside of us that’s BIGGER than we are.

Each week of this five-week series, you will see ordinary people doing extraordinary things!  And my prayer is that once we have completed this series, you too will achieve great things and be inspired to dream a God-sized dream for your life as you find purpose and meaning in Him.

I ask you to invite your friends, co-workers, and neighbors to join us Sunday.  We provided a great tool for you to reach out through our ‘SpringWell’s Got Talent’ postcard.  I challenge you to grab one, address it, stick a stamp on it, and mail it to someone you want to invite.  If every person invited just one other person, we all could make a difference.

I look forward to being back with you all on Sunday as we kick off “SpringWell’s Got Talent”.  Make sure you get there early, and if you can, come to the 9:00 service for FREE COFFEE and a great seat!  I love you all so much!  See you Sunday!
